Мийки виготовляються з нержавіючої сталі, гранітної крихти, скла, іноді з полімерних матеріалів. Досить часто кухонну мийку роблять частиною стільниці. У цьому випадку їх виготовляють з акрилу або кварциту. Однак найпопулярніші – натуральні матеріали. Один з них – кераміка.

Fraceram — надзвичайно міцний матеріал, складається повністю з натуральних компонентів. Спеціальна керамічна маса в поєднанні з глазур’ю забезпечує блиск і міцність у всіх кольорах і рівномірно гладеньку поверхню, за якою легко доглядати. Fraceram виробляється з чотирьох основних компонентів: кварц забезпечує твердість поверхні; польовий шпат використовується для кращого з’єднання матеріалів у процесі випалювання; каолін (або біла глина) покращує механічну міцність матеріалу; глина слугує для створення форми мийок. У процесі виробництва компоненти подрібнюють, змішують, поміщають у форму і висушують близько 40 год за температури 160 °C. На останньому етапі мийку випалюють у тунельній печі за температури 200 °C 20 год. У результаті створюється неймовірно міцна, жаростійка і стійка до подряпин, впливу кислот і відбілювачів мийка.

На відміну від кераміки, яку використовують у ванній кімнаті, керамічна мийка на кухні піддається значно більшому впливу. На противагу звичайній кераміці Fraceram витримує найжорсткіші умови і удари від падіння металевих предметів. У кераміки багато позитивних властивостей: гігієнічність, стійкість до тепла, холоду і подряпин, зносостійкість. За нею легко доглядати і її легко чистити. Це природний сировинний ресурс — абсолютно безпечний у використанні, а також надзвичайно міцний.

Блискучий глянець у поєднанні з плавними лініями і насиченими кольорами надає мийці чудового вигляду. Вона поєднується з сучасними матеріалами, використовуваними для обробки кухні. При цьому також доступні і матові кольори.
